@johnny, yeah I remember that one, and agree with your opinion of it 100%. I've admired Doug Mahnke for a long time (I still vividly remember the first time being blown away by his work on The Mask). Got some sweet stuff for Christmas, including Tales Designed to Thrizzle (CRAZY FUNNY!) All-Star Superman, Asterios Polyp (looking forward to reading) and Crime Suspenstories (which I unfortunately already have, so I'll try to take it back to the shop in exchange for the similarly titles Shock SuspenStories.
Also got two awesome books about comics: DC Comics: Year By Year and 1001 Comics to Read Before You Die.

@johnny, nice gifties! All-star Superman is good, and I very much enjoyed Asterios Polyp.
Was a good Christmas for me too: I received Winshluss' Pinocchio (which is a fantastic French comic, dark and perverse and hilarious), Joe Sacco's "Safe Area Gorazde" (his non-fiction journalistic comic from 1994 about the Bosnian war, told through a series of interviews he conducted while embedded there during the war. One of few comic book writer/artists whose word I'd class as essential), and Best American Comics 2011 (which is always reliable).

I love Joe Sacco. I think he needs a documentary or something. He's had a fascinating life.
