Just some forum related thoughts for you Tyler:
I was thinking it might make sense to start a 'general movie discussion' thread and an 'introduce yourself' thread? I thought maybe you'd want to be the one to start those.
You've currently got it set so guests can post. I'm not sure whether that was a conscious choice but it actually does allow you to turn it off.
My Karma is 1! I'm not sure what that means but, well, it makes me happy.

"What's the last movie you watched" is also a good thread that I've seen on other forums and it's a thread that won't die. I would also like some karma, but only if I don't have to do anything to acquire it. Required active participation is my main beef with real-life karma.

Instead of using the "guests must login" option you'd be better off limiting the posting restrictions under each individual forum's options. If you do this then guests will have the option to browse the forum before they actually register. I'm willing to bet certain people might not want to register without exploring a little first.
Other things that take a bit of time but are kind of fun:
You can add a logo up top. I'm not sure what the size requirements are but you guys have two neat logos that would look nice up there if they were cropped correctly.
If you hit "modify rankings" you can award titles based on post counts. When I had a ProBoard with my friends in high school I remembering spending hours coming up with clever and stupid rankings.
The forum is fantastic by the way. It's no surprise your show attracts a pleasant crowd.

I'd lke a "what is the last movie you watched" forum -- that's a good discussion starter.

We discuss in our latest episode why we haven't covered French New Wave yet, as well as Westerns, War Films, Italian Neorealism, etc.

Don't limit the lengths of episodes. If you're in a heavy discussion, don't stop it all of a sudden just to clock in at an hour. I would love to hear a full two hour discussion about a famous director or a theme in film. Kevin Pollack's chat show's best episodes are all two and a half hours and I'm always bumbed when it ends. If I saw that your next episode was three hours long, I'd be as happy as a pig in shit.

Also, David mentioned that people get upset when you guys spend the first 20 minutes or so talking about things that are off-topic. Screw those people. I love listening to you guys talk about off-topic things. Hell, sometimes I find that more interesting than the topic.

If I saw that your next episode was three hours long, I'd be as happy as a pig in shit. Well, then, this is the week for you. Along with this week's episode, we'll be posting a BP Supplement that is well over 90 minutes. Those, along with the BP Live that should be posting later this week, should do the job for you.

I haven't double-checked the episodes list so you might have already done a topic like this, but I think something that would be interesting is a topic like: "Great Movies" that just don't do it for you. Or "Great Movies" that you actually find objectionable. By "Great Movies," of course, I mean those movies that we're used to seeing on "greatest movies of all time" lists. I'm sure everyone has a few of these. Maybe it sounds like a trite topic, but I think it would be interesting, especially for films where the two of you disagree.

Maybe I'm not paying close enough attention, or maybe you guys just aren't mentioning it, but I always hear you guys pimp out your twitters and what not, but rarely hear anything about these forums.
Honestly, it is a pretty dead forum with a low number of members. I'm not sure how long this forum has existed, but I was listener for well over a year before I discovered it.
There are also only a hand full of us who actually post regularly, maybe we call out the lurkers a little more and encourage people to post more. Just by mentioning the forum and discussions here while "on air" would encourage more interaction from your listeners.
Just some thoughts.

That's a good thought. We should try to work it into our regular sign off. Thanks.

It is a relatively new forum but you're right, we could use s'more members on here. Not to gush but the podcast is just so wonderfully positive, I can't imagine that there aren't more listeners who would be eager join an enthusiastic film community like this one.
We're enthusiastic right?
Right?

Perhaps at the end of each episode you could have some kind of related question, game or, to borrow from Filmspotting, poll that listeners need to come to the forum to respond to. You could read a couple of the responses or even list that week's new forum members. The bait of hearing their names on the show may motivate some reluctant listeners to head on over. Once they're here, hopefully they'll be hooked!

I don't have anything to back this up but maybe people are turned away by that login page? You can turn that off (somewhere in the admin panel) so guests can surf around, lurk a little, get a feel for the place before actually signing up.
Maybe we should start a street team? People still have those, right?
