Nice episode, I love hearing what other people like in film. Just have to say thanks for the shout-out to Columbia, MO! I've lived here since I graduated from MU in '04, and it does indeed have a great film community (just as an example, I'm going to Ragtag (the local art house) tonight to see a screening of the silent classic Haxan with a live band. Awesome!).
A bit of bad news though. I just found out from co-workers that the governor has vetoed the Missouri Film Commission from the budget, and it will dissolve on June 30th. You'd think that with an Oscar-nominated film (Winter's Bone) being shot here in the past year (and Up in the Air was shot partly in Saint Louis), an ever-expanding documentary film festival (True/False) and a burgeoning indie scene, that the gov would've shown a little more love.
