Let's cause a little controversy! People have already mentioned their favorites in other threads, so let's put it to a poll. All in fun, of course. A word about the poll - the language is fairly ambiguous, and intentionally so. Take from it what you want. Pick the host that you agree with, pick the host who you most like to hear their opinion, pick the host who you think has the most beautiful voice (if that's your thing). While I do enjoy both hosts on the show, and I feel that David and Tyler do an excellent job of balancing each other out, I find myself agreeing more with David's opinions of movies. That being said, it'll be a cold day in hell before I'll ever call myself a Buffy fan. As I said, all in fun!

Am I allowed to vote on this?

one is macroni, the other cheese. Each is fine in and of itself, but together ... nirvana.

Vote away, Tyler! If David doesn't want to join the boards to even things out, that's his choice.
And I love the mac and cheese metaphor.

No... you don't want to? No you can't decide which host is that much more aweomse? No you find this whole thing distasteful? There are many different kinds of no. Which does yours happen to be?

Well, to me Battleship Pretension is sort of like the battleship Potemkin; the Potemkin could never mutiny without it's crew, and BP only works with our two hosts as of now. I probably have sensibilities more like one of them, but as hosts they're 100% euqual. Yin and Yang and all that jive.

Ug, I just voted and I already feel bad. I will say, as the standard disclaimer goes, that I voted with the person to whom my taste in movies most reflects, which is Tyler. I think he's the only person in the world who loved Up as much as I did. It's the first kids movie that my kids got tired of watching before I did.

So, let's see... three votes so far, two of them for me. I knew it! David is just dead weight!

In terms of film preference, I definitely lean towards Tyler's tastes. I haven't encountered many other people who think The Departed and Fight Club are highly overrated while Citizen Kane and 12 Angry Men are a couple of the best movies out there. Likewise, I've encountered few people who have such strong appreciation for movies like The Last Temptation of Christ, Quiz Show and Bicycle Thieves. I also watch a lot of movies but rarely watch TV, which is why I listen to Tyler's other podcast but not David's.
All that said, I agree with cucumberboy in that both hosts work well together. The chemistry and sense of humor the two of them have make the show very entertaining.
