This years oscars are full of winners, vareity but also a lot of snubs. What are some movies or preformances that you felt got snubbed. For me the biggest snub was tron legacy for visual effects. I mean the movie brings you to this digital world and everything looks incredible. The movie didn't get a nomination for effects but did get in for sound editing. If there was one problem I had with the film it was sound. The effects and music were blaring but the dialouge was quiet and if they were ever together you could barely hear people talk.

Scott Pilgrim deserved both directing and a whole buttload of technical awards. And it did not get them.

I agree if nothing else it deserved editing. Another snub I felt was jackie chan in the karate kid. His preformance was no doubt a breakthrough into dramatic terrortory and well I don't think it was a winning preformance I think it at least deserves a mention. Also it's kind of a funny story that movie was great and meaningful but no nominanations.

I'm no good at this snubs thing but... We've mentioned Scott Pilgrim on here which I really hoped would at least get some technical recognition. I'd argue that the cinematography in Never Let Me Go is miles better than most of what's going on in The Kings Speech. In my mind, The Kings Speech's minimalism often erred on the side of simplistic. The leads in Never Let Me Go also gave three worthy performances. I enjoyed Somewhere more than a lot of others seem to have but I'm not surprised it didn't get a single nomination. I just watched this featurette which showcases a more subtle use of special effects in Black Swan. I'm not familiar enough with the Visual Effects category: has this sort of "restraint" ever been something the Academy's recognized? Oh and... I haven't see Tron: Legacy yet but from the trailer alone it looks like it deserved a handful of technical awards. Jackie Chan as Mr Miyagi was the only real thing that excited me about a Karate Kid remake so I'm glad to hear he gave a worthy performance. Given his legacy he seemed absolutely perfect for the role.

In my opinion, Animal Kingdom deserved a Best Picture nomination. Also, Let Me In a nomination for best original score.
