THE HUNGER GAMES is already an incredibly successful film. I (Tyler) am one of the only people I know that didn't out-and-out love it. I have some major problems with its execution of theme. Is there anybody else that didn't love this movie?

I liked it, I wouldn't say that I loved it. I don't feel that the actual games were savage enough. Specifically, Katniss never had to make any difficult decisions about killing people. It seemed like her decisions were made for her. This made her win (spoiler?) seem less of a task and more of an inevitable outcome. I suppose that the tameness could have to do with the MPAA rating but I think that they could have gotten around it some other way. Also, I found it extremely odd that she (spoilers, hi-light for text)killed the last guy by shooting him in the hand while his hand was over Peeta's throat. She's lucky it didn't continue into Peeta and kill him (end spoiler). Also for a film by Gary Ross, I kinda expected more emotion. After the reaping the film doesn't really have much sorrow. (more spoilers, hi-light for text)I was expecting the film to really play-up the Romeo and Juliet tragedy during the moment where Katniss and Peeta were going to eat the berries and die (end spoilers). It certainly does an excellent job of setting-up the story for the second film, which from the book description on Wikipedia sounds awesome. The description of the third book, however, sounds horrendous and not easily adapted to film.
