There's a significant chance that you've already answered this, as I only started listening to the show about 9 months ago, but what's your greatest "guilty movie" pleasure? I remember when Patrick Swayze passed away that David mentioned his love of Point Break, how about you David?
~Carib Capt~, who thinks Matrix Reloaded could have redeemed itself by having Neo admit to Morpheus that he "is an FBI Agent!"

I"ll start out by saying that in reality I have no dog in this fight. I'm not a big spiderman fan. I didn't like the Sam Raimi movies. I could care less if they reboot the series. However I have to seriously ask David if his neo-sensitive hipster persona is really so bother by fans not wanting a movie studio to mess with the 40 year heritage of that character can really be written off as closet racism? Its hilarious to me that that idea somehow is more plausible and troubling than the decision by committee of the studio to contemplate recasting an african american actor in a crass attempt to have a larger marketing appeal in the youth demographic. David please tell me that your comments were some hipster knee-jerk reaction brought on by the barrage of postmodern cultural relativism that darkens our intellectual landscape, and not your final analysis on the situation?

Seconded. Big time. As a fanboy (over 10 years collecting comics, mostly DC, and I still can't help but wander into a shop and buy the occasional crossover/major event books), I cannot stand the thought of recasting Spider-Man as a black kid. But I also would go ape **** if they cast Charlize Theron as Storm or Brad Pitt as Blade. It's nothing to do with racism, it's about staying true to the source. I do agree that you can stay true to the source from a feeling/mood/theme of a character, but you can't do that because of how people think of the character. Even on a physical level. In all honestly, PC has been taken way too far in this country.

Has David ever talked about why he didn't like fight club? He's mentioned it a billion times, but not elaborated further. I'd really like to know why. I remember it not really hitting a homerun for me either, but I have to rewatch it to remember what it was that bothered me.

Has David ever talked about why he didn't like fight club? I believe we had a general discussion about it on episode 106 with Ed Salazar. Also, we briefly touch on it in the upcoming episode, so be on the lookout for that.
